Una Nina de Chontala
This little girl lives in a village in Guatemala called Chontala. In the early 80s the men of her village were wiped out by the army. The survivors, all women and children, formed a weaving coop in order to survive. About 8 of the original founders still live there. This is the granddaughter of one survivor. I have done volunteer work for Guatemala Project, a San Diego organization that helps market their beautiful woven goods here.
